Who We Are

Sofia Bean was conceived by accident when I ran out of wrapping paper shortly before attending a baby shower and grabbed a pastel-colored storage box to use as a gift box. I packed the box with several practical items for a new mom in addition to a cute baby outfit. Eventually, I created my own designs and had them printed on the perfect size gift box that doubles as a keepsake box or a storage box.

Clothing Colors

The clothing line evolved when I had a hard time finding something cute, simple, soft and appropriate for a boy or girl a few weeks before my second baby was due when I didn't know my baby was going to be a "she." That baby ended up being the original "Sofia Bean" and she came home from the hospital in a yellow sleeper, which would have been fine except that she had jaundice, so she looked really yellow in that outfit.

Clothing Design

I am a runner and all my babies have been very active, so it was important to me to have simple clothes for babies who want to move around a lot. Our line sticks with one-pieces (both short- and long-sleeved) since they stay tucked in along with simple pull-on pants. The material is 100% cotton interlock which is really soft against baby's skin and there is a soft fabric backing behind the embroidery on the one-pieces to keep any rough spots away from the baby's skin as well. We also added matching hats and blankets to the line.

Practical "Add-Ins"

We added Sibling T-Shirts, Leather Baby Shoes, Skip*HOP Pronto Diaper Kits, Skip*HOP Stuffed Animals, Snack Shack Nursing Covers, and Pulp Factory Calendars just to add a few practical items to our gift boxes that I really liked having for my babies.
